Special Accommodations

The GED exam is offered monthly (except August and January) through the Assessment Center located in the Student Services building.  The cost of the five-part exam is $40.00.  All GED candidates are required to take a pre-test at the Adult Basic Education Center before signing up for the official GED test.  For information regarding pre-testing and GED classes, please see http://www.unm.edu/~vcabe/ or contact Adult Basic Education at 925-8900.

 
 

To sign up for testing, you will need:

·  Pretest scores from ABE

·  $40 Receipt

·  Two valid forms of ID.  One must be a government issued picture ID, the second must verify two of the following:  your name, signature, date of birth, or social security number. 

·  If under 18, a permission slip signed by your school district and parent.            

In order to pass the GED battery, you must have a score of 2250 of all tests combined, or average 450 overall.  No individual test score can be lower than 410.  If you have not passed the GED battery, you may take any or all subjects up to three times per calendar year.  All of your test scores expire three (3) years from the date of your first official GED test.

Retesting fees are $8.00 per test.
